About and limits
rightsocket takes code ChatGPT wrote, works out what it is, updates the parts written for older versions, and packages it with install steps for your device. It runs on this page, in your browser.
What it checks today
- Chrome extensions: Manifest V2 to V3, manifest.json clean-up, missing icons and files, inline scripts, renamed chrome.* calls.
- Userscripts: the header, @match, @include, @grant and @connect lines.
- Discord bots: discord.js v12 and v13 code updated to v14, the Message Content intent, the token moved to a .env file.
- Bookmarklets: wrapping and encoding so the code works as a bookmark.
Limits
- It updates what changed between versions. It doesn’t check whether the code does what you asked ChatGPT for.
- Some changes need rewriting by hand, for example chrome.tabs.executeScript or blocking web requests. Those are marked Check with what to ask ChatGPT.
- It reads JavaScript, JSON and HTML. TypeScript and other languages aren’t refitted yet.
rightsocket isn’t made by or connected to OpenAI, Google or Discord.
